1s/T Training

Struggling to fit in all that exercise you promised yourself in your New Year resolution?

Finding it hard to motivate yourself and get into the habit of regular exercise?

New to the gym, and don’t know how to fit it all in?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, my unique 1s/T training system is exactly what you need. It allows you to do all the cardio and resistance training you need in an intense 30 minute whole body workout that will build muscle and reduce body fat, helping you achieve your new year resolutions and get that lean, defined body you promised yourself.

FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY TRY 2 WEEKS WITH 1/3 OFF THE USUAL PRICE!!

Resistance training burns lots of calories and builds lean muscle mass helping you get that lean, defined beach body. Recent research has shown that if you are new to resistance training, then one set of an exercise is almost as good as doing 3 or more sets. So why waste time doing lots of sets and resting in between, when you can do one set and move straight onto the next exercise without wasting time resting in between exercises? This one set concept forms the ‘1s’ part of my unique 1s/T training system.

All the latest research has also proven that you can improve your cardio-vascular fitness most effectively by performing high intensity interval training (HIIT), and if the intensity is high enough, these HIIT sessions can be as short as three or four minutes! This type of training can also improve other aspects of health such as cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes risk and heart health. The Tabata protocol is the most well known HIIT method, and forms the ‘T’ part of my unique 1s/T training system.

The exercises included in the 1s/T training system are whole body exercises selected especially to maximise your calorie expenditure, engage your core muscles and improve your strength, mobility and flexibility.

Personal Training

Many people have health or sport related fitness goals, but at the same time have some degree of restriction or pain that may prevent them from reaching that goal. Whether you enjoy just being fit, active and healthy, or love a particular sport and want to really see how far you can push yourself, I can help you like I have previously helped many other people from all walks of life with many different goals.

Unfortunately, many personal trainers fail to include a proper assessment of posture or movement, and do not address postural imbalances, or movement restrictions and deficiencies. You wouldn’t drive a car across country without first doing some important basic checks, would you? The same should apply when beginning a training program.

I specialise in identifying posture & movement faults, muscle imbalances and joint restrictions and helping you learn how to to correct them for life. The focus is on movements designed to create balance, stability, and/or mobility in areas that are not functioning properly. It’s about choosing the right exercises for your posture, activity level and personal health history; knowing when and how to progress them and making sure they are performed with proper technique. Ultimately, it’s about getting you moving, playing and living as efficiently and as pain free as possible.

In everyday life, we are constantly doing activities that create imbalances in our bodies, and for many of us the amount of physical activity we take part in has decreased. From sleeping on one side, sitting for long periods of time, or participating in sports like tennis and golf, our bodies slowly develop restrictions and weaknesses that eventually lead to asymmetry in our posture and movement.  These posture and movement imbalances can lead to unnecessary wear and tear on our muscles and joints and make us more susceptible to chronic pain and injuries. It's the same as when the engine timing or wheel tracking is not quite right on your car. There's nothing broken, it's just not working quite as well as it could be. But if you leave it for too long, something will need fixing!

Personal Training for Sport

If you are training for a specific sport or event, you need a sport specific training program. Running fitness is different to cycling fitness, and they are both very different to rugby fitness or tennis fitness. Each sport requires different types of strength, endurance, speed, and flexibility, and very different movement patterns. As a Graduate Sports Therapist with a Master's degree in Sports Therapy, I am a specialist in injury prevention, particularly soft tissue overuse injuries, such as tendinopathy/tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, repeated muscle tears/strains, chronic tightness, shoulder impingements, and so on.

My athletes benefit from some of the most advanced training programs and techniques out there. I use a range of training methods, including:

  • Olympic weight lifting and plyometrics for power training
  • maximal aerobic speed training and high intensity anaerobic intervals for cardio-vacular endurance and VO2max training
  • compound resistance training for increased muscle mass
  • and for true functional sports specific training, I use strongman training that doesnt just create a strong, bullet proof body, but a strong mind as well, so you can push through the pain to make sure you win! After all is said and done, thats what it's all about!
